On Saturday February 9, 2019 at approximately 2:36 a.m., deputies from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle rollover located on Highway 75 near milepost 113 between Hailey and Bellevue, Idaho.
Deputies found the driver Nicole Byington, age 32 of Hailey, Idaho, in a silver 2003 Honda CRV laying on its side in an embankment. Byington was removed from the vehicle by South Central Fire and transported to St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Crash investigation indicates that Byington was traveling northbound when she lost control and crossed the southbound lane, hitting the embankment and rolling the vehicle. The vehicle came to a stop on the driver’s side facing south. Evidence suggests that Byington was not wearing a seat belt.
The rollover remains under investigation. Criminal charges are pending lab results. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor.
